Worked with us before? Let us know what you thought here.

Anders Hatlestad completed 2 somewhat major projects for us at different times this year on our home. The first project required the removal of a deteriorating 2nd story, back-of-house, balcony deck with stairs and railing, and removal of a front entry way with stairs and railing, and the rebuilding of both with materials selected by us and Mr. Hatlestad. The second project involved the removal of a deteriorating, 2nd story balcony deck and railing at the front of the house with materials selected by us and Mr. Hatlestad. We could not be more pleased with Mr. Hatlestad's work, and would not have engaged him for the second project had we not been pleased with the first project he did. He paid the attention to details that we wanted, gave us initial plans that were more like engineering specs than construction specs, and was very open to discussions regarding selection of materials, and tolerated our questions. He made very good suggestions and did the appropriate research regarding materials and installation, and did not mind our own research and suggestions. he is indeed a craftsman. We received 3 bids for the projects from contractors, and his bids were higher than the other two from well known firms in The Dalles, however, we felt we would receive better quality workmanship relative to the cost, and more attention to what we wanted. The work was completed on schedule. Neighbors, and others who have seen the finished projects are very complementary. My wife, I and a neighbor have some construction backgrounds so we know quality of both work and materials for the most part.Read More

Anders was able to take my vision for a net loft and make it a reality! His thoughtfulness, flexibility and creativity were so appreciated every step of the way. He empowered me to save money by encouraging me to contribute to tasks that were within my skill set. He kept the project within proposed budget even when tariffs impeded the delivery of the net we order from France. I felt completely comfortable with Anders in my home and it was a pleasure to welcome him into our family fold when it overlapped with his work hours. The net loft and adjoining climbing wall/ladder looks amazing and are enjoyed by all! I wouldn't hesitate to contact Craftsman Dynamics for your project needs!Read More

Leah G. - Hood River, OR

"Anders built me a custom butcher block counter for a rolling combo washer/dryer in a tiny house I own. It came out perfectly and really added to the needed counter space. He also came out and insulated a window at very short notice on an extremely cold day. He will be my go-to for handyman projects from now on, as this level of craftsmanship is hard to find these days."

"Anders Hatlestad with Craftsman Dynamic did a great job on a multitude of tasks from snow damage. He was great to work with, a skilled craftsman with an artistic eye. He matched custom made posts on my porch, and cleverly figured out a simple way to add strength to my partially collapsed shed. He also mentored and encouraged me in my efforts to do as much as I could on the project.  He's the best!"

Tracy N. - Hood River, OR

"Anders was prompt, professional, and task oriented. He approached each and every project with professionalism and did a great job on everything. He also stayed each day until everything was finished. I absolutely recommend him!"

"In less than 2 days, Anders built us an amazing front entry porch/steps. Sanded and stained cedar with impressive attention to detail. I would highly recommend his work to any and everyone. He built us an outstanding entrance to our home!!"
